I can officially say that I have a book deal. I didn’t dream it. It actually happened. (I think) With a contract and everything.

The book, Dear Dad, Did You Know I Was a Princess? should be released in the fall. I’m pretty excited!

Here’s a little sneek peek on what the book is about:

Not every girl realizes she has a Father in Heaven who adores her. Not every woman understands she is a true princess, regardless of what the lies of her past tell her. This book offers her hope. The hope that comes from embracing unconditional love from our Heavenly Father. Through accepting the truth I was able to understand and redeem a relationship with my own father, even though I had to do it through writing letters.

I’m as equally excited to tell you about the publishing process, as I learn myself. I’m both amazed and blessed that I wasn’t turned down by 50 publishers and agents before I got my first book deal. I was only turned down by one publisher before receiving this contract. I have no doubt that God’s hand is on it all.
There were many things I did to reach this goal. Here are three things I stopped doing:

Though it wasn’t exactly easy to find a publisher to believe in my book, I know the hardest part is yet to come. Soon, I’m going to be thickening my skin as my editor critiques the book and tells me what sucks and what doesn’t. Reality is starting to hit me that people will actually be reading the words on the pages and asking many questions. I realized yesterday I haven’t quite prepared myself for that. Of the gazillion books out there, I’m going to have to convince people why they need to read it.
As my friend and mentor Gary Smalley recently told me, “The work has just begun.”
To that I say,

LET’S DO IT!

Are you still dreaming or are you doing? Get up and go. No more excuses!
Stay tuned for more in the publishing process.
